New Ride is Home

The trip to pick up the bike turned into an adventure. Got up Saturday morning to iced over Colorado and had to drive 400 miles in the stuff heading to Kansas. The new bike was in far NE Oklahoma. I made it to Tulsa Saturday, 12 hours later. Got up Sunday, went to get the bike and started the trip home. Got to Salina, Kansas, stopped for the evening and got home Monday afternoon to foul weather. Had to wait until today to get it out - what a nice ride! Oh, for nice weather this coming weekend, please!

New Bike

During my Montana ride in June, during those incredible Eastern Montana side winds, I really started thinking about a bigger bike for the long haul trips. Being as short as I am, finding one lowered in the used market turned out to be a challenge. I have been watching multiple web sites for a couple of months, missed one great opportunity a month ago, but closed a deal last night. This is an '07 R1200GS Adventure. It is 800 miles away and we have a lot of snow in the forecast, so now trying to figure the logistics of getting the gal home.
